Watch: Justin Bieber and Chris Brown survive Armageddon in 'Next 2 U' clip

Shindigs shut down due to shenanigans

Glace Bay High School principal Peter Campbell last fall compared behaviour at high school dances to a pendulum.
“It’s like anything else — there is a pendulum that swings and the pendulum has swung to the point where we said that it’s time to put the brakes on, take a breather, talk to the kids and re-evaluate,” he said.
Campbell was reacting to the high school’s decision to cancel dances indefinitely after some students showed up at the first dance of the school year tipsy, scantily clad and/or spoiling for a fight.
Staff at Whitney Pier Memorial Junior High also stopped hosting its dances around the same time for similar reasons. And Riverview Rural High School took similar steps earlier this year.
Sydney Academy is the latest in a long list of schools to cancel its dances due to drinking, suspected drug use and fighting at a dance on Thursday, resulting in up to 30 suspensions.
Campbell sounds like an educator who has seen it all. And the approach he advocates is the sensible one. That’s likely the approach Sydney Academy will take. There won’t be any dances until staff members get the sense they can host one again without anyone getting hurt.
There are inevitably cries of “no fair” from students and even some parents. But what other choice is there? What volunteer wants to be associated with a supposedly fun event where people are getting hurt?
Some suggest giving students a breathalyzer test before allowing them into a dance. Back in 2006, students at Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton, Ont. were made to pass a breathalyzer test to get into school dances, after the school issued 11 suspensions for fighting and underage drinking at a previous dance.
But asking volunteer chaperones to administer a breathalyzer test prior to a dance at a public school with a student population of 750 is asking too much.
History repeats itself year after year.
Some teens engage in shocking behaviour at dances, some of which is potentially injurious, their elders are scandalized, volunteers throw their hands up in the air, and those who weren’t grinding, grappling or guzzling become indignant that their “rights” are being trampled.
High school dances aren’t a “right.” And there are those who would contend that the opportunity to cram into a school gymnasium with hundreds of others getting down to Britney Spears and Justin Bieber isn’t even a “privilege.”
Most parents and teachers just want to see their kids get through high school relatively unscathed, physically, mentally and socially.
When a high school dance becomes a threat to students’ health and safety, as was the case at Sydney Academy on Thursday, it’s time to shut ’er down.

Chris Brown & Justin Bieber Official Video ‘Next To You’ Leaked out

An unfinished version of Chris Brown and Justin Bieber’s Next 2 You video has leaked online.
The promo, directed by Colin Tilley, emerged on the web ahead of it’s official premiere next week and features Breezy and the Biebs romancing two girls before the town they live in is thrown into chaos.

The video opens with Chris’ F.A.M.E. LP track, All Back, playing in the background as JB and Chris are seen with their girlfriends, before Justin’s lady is dragged away from him by her father.

Brown and Chris are then shown in an apocalyptic setting, as 21-year old Brown tries to search the devastated town for his lady, while Biebs is pictured on a roof-top pining for his girlfriend.

The clip ends with Justin finally being reunited with his lady, sealing the final scene with a romantic kiss, while Chris is seen wandering aimlessly on the streets as his girlfriend is involved in a car accident.

Speaking of his ideas for the dramatic Next 2 You promo, Chris previously claimed: “I would play it to the actual song, and at one point of the song, there were all these dancers dancing on these street elements like benches and tables and stuff like that,”

He added: “From there, it just started to evolve from street elements and this whole underground vibe to just getting crazier and crazier. I wanted to make sure it was really exciting.”

Eminem Dissing Justin Bieber and Lady GAGA in his new song ‘A Kiss’

Eminem says Lady Gaga’s no lady and Bieber is an evil.
Yup, Eminem’s at it again, rapping about his pop culture cohorts in a new song titled “A Kiss” on Hell: The Sequel, his new collaborative album with Royce da 5’9. This time Eminem’s targeting both Gaga and Justin Bieber. (Source:EOnline)
So how’s he trash talking these two?
Turns out, Eminem playing up the hermaphrodite rumors surrounding the pop singer with the following lyrics:
“Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office/she’s still a male lady. Wouldn’t f–k her with her d–k/ You heard it/The verdict’s in.”
As for Justin Bieber, Eminem raps in the song:
“evil runs through him.”
“Him don’t give a damn how Bieber doing,” he raps.
Eminem? Really?

Selena Gomez releases new single Bang Bang Bang on iTunes

Selena Gomez iTunes new single
The Disney star is trying to break into the music world, and her first single has been made available for download today.
She announced the news on Twitter, saying: '“Bang Bang Bang" is now on @iTunesMusic! Listen to the full song and get it now.'
The track is from her forthcoming first album When The Sun Goes Down.
The new single features the lyrics: 'My new boy used to be model. He looks way better than you.
'He's a real keeper, you know/ Bang bang bang, I'm breaking in/ Stealing all my love back, giving it to him.'
Some say the track is clearly about Justin, though others have cast doubt on whether Selena be investing all her love in the Biebster after he tweeted yesterday: 'A girlfriend won't change me, I'll always put my fans first.'
There was certainly a distinct lack of microblogging action from Selena's squeeze when the new track went live today...

Bieber-Inspired 9/11 Victim's Daughter Inspired President Obama

5711obamawall.jpg
This week when President Obama visited Ground Zero, he met with 14-year-old Payton Wall; Wall had written a letter to the President about her father, who was killed on 9/11, and how she had been inspired to share her story by our favorite cyborg Christian pop star, Justin Bieber. And this morning, the President related her moving story while speaking to troops at Fort Campbell. By the transient properties of inspirational stories, does that mean that President Obama is now a Belieber?
Here's an excerpt from that speech:
Now, this week I received a letter from a girl in New Jersey named Payton Wall. She wrote to me on Monday after the news that bin Laden had been killed, and she explained how she still remembers that September morning almost 10 years ago. She was only four years old. Her father, Glen, was trapped inside the World Trade Center. And so, in those final, frantic moments, knowing he might not make it, he called home. And Payton remembers watching her mom sobbing as she spoke to her husband and then passed the phone to Payton. And in words that were hard to hear but which she's never forgotten, he said to her, "I love you Payton, and I will always be watching over you.
Wall, who lives in Rumson, NJ, opened up about her 1,500-word letter to the President to the Post. She noted that she and her friend Madison Robertson, who also lost her father on 9/11, were inspired to tell their stories after seeing Bieber's movie Never Say Never: "We were so amazed by his story and how he never said never. It inspired us to believe in our selves and share our story to encourage others." She actually tried contacting Bieber first, through Twitter, but when he didn't respond, she wrote to the President. The next day, the White House called her mother, Diane, who had no idea about the letter, and invited Payton, her mother and her sister, Avery, to Thursday's ceremony.
When she met him, the President also told her that he "knows Justin" and that he would help arrange a meeting between the two. Wall said she was absolutely thrilled, but "I just don't want it to seem like I only wrote the letter to meet Justin Bieber. I did it to honor my father. My father is the reason that we all came together today. I miss and love him and don't go a day without thinking about him."

Justin Bieber says he's dating around - What about Selena ?

Justin downplays a relationship with Selena — are they on the rocks?

Justin Bieber is not one to speak publicly about his relationship with Selena Gomez, but after her recent denial of love in a Seventeen magazine interview, he’s opening up — and things don’t sound promising for our favorite Hollywood couple!

During a recent interview for a New Zealand television program, Justin, 17, not only denied a relationship with Selena, 18, but said he’s playing the field!
“She’s one of my best friends,” Justin said. “I think that’s an important thing in my life is dating around and having some sort of a personal life.”
Sounds like there could be trouble in paradise for this famous pair! Check out the interview below and tell us if you agree,

Justin Bieber confirms he'll play in Japan, manager tells crew to “man the f**k up”

justin-bieber-free-ticket-394

Things were looking bad for Justin Bieber's Japanese fans yesterday: TMZ reported his stage crew were refusing to go to Japan because they're afraid for their health.
Justin's manager Scooter Braun had to hold a series of crisis talks as workers on the tour said they were worried about the risk of cancer since the recent nuclear disaster and thought there might be another earthquake.
VIDEO: Justin Bieber gives away free concert tickets!
Justin Bieber departed Australia today (*cries*) and tweeted that he's definitely going to Japan.
and Im def going to JAPAN!! #supportJapan #citizenoftheworld #makeachange
Braun must have shaken the crew up with these words: "Man the f**k up and do the right thing by these kids."
Workers had retorted that Avril Lavigne and Slash had both canceled their concerts, to which Scooter told them that the government had given “the all clear” and it was safe to play the scheduled concerts in Tokyo and Osaka.
Do you think Justin's crew have a right to be freaked out or should they get over it?

Justin Bieber’s Phone Blunder

Justin Bieber tried to call his new BFF Chris Brown on his birthday to wish him a happy one. Yet he dialed the wrong number and got an old man who did not believe him. Here is what Justin tweeted about it.
Chris Brown happy birthday man… call me cuz u programed yr new number wrong in my phone. I was calling this old guy who didn’t believe he was talking to me
You know he must have felt so embarrassed by that. I hate calling people for that exact reason. However, hopefully he handled it with class like we know he can. Do you feel bad for Justin? Do you think he should have made it publicly known like he did on Twitter or should he have kept it more private? That’s a tough one to say. It does not paint him in a good light, but he did have a right to wish Chris a happy birthday.

Justin Bieber to Record PSA for Nassau Students

Justin Bieber is now Nassau County’s star anti-bullying advocate.
The teen pop sensation has agreed to help in the fight against cyberbullying and sexting in a public service announcement that will appear in Nassau County schools, the district attorney’s office said on Friday.
The 17-year-old star agreed to record the public service announcement in order to resolve misdemeanor charges filed against one of his managers and record label, after an incident in 2009, that brought thousands of unruly Bieber fans to Roosevelt Field mall for a chance to meet the singer.
Bieber’s record label, Island Def Jam Record Music Group, and his management company, Remster 3, pleaded guilty Friday morning to violating Nassau County Fire Prevention Ordinances, the district attorney’s office said in a statement. The case against James Roppo, a senior vice president of IDJ, and Scott “Scooter” Braun, Bieber’s manager, were dismissed based on the guilty pleas taken by the companies.
The public service announcement will be shown in Nassau County middle schools, junior high schools, and high schools. Prosecutors will make it available to schools outside of Nassau County as well.
“This public service announcement will be a valuable tool for parents, educators, and law enforcement efforts to combat cyber-bullying and sexting, while encouraging young people to use the internet responsibly,” District Attorney Kathleen Rice said in the statement.

Charges to be dropped in Bieber NY mall frenzy

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) — Justin Bieber (BEE'-bur) has agreed to record a public service announcement on cyberbullying in order to resolve misdemeanor charges filed against one of his managers and a record executive after a frenzy at a New York mall.
The case stemmed from an incident in 2009, when thousands of unruly girls turned up at a clothing store on Long Island to see the teen pop star sign autographs.
Bieber manager Scott Bruan and Def Jam Records executive James Roppo were charged after police said they refused to help disperse the crowd.
Prosecutors told a judge Friday that they are dropping those charges. The record company and a management company pleaded guilty to fire code violations.
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice tells Newsday that having Bieber educate kids about bullying is "invaluable."

Buzz around Jack Vidgen hits Bieber pitch

Jack Vidgen
AUSTRALIA'S newest young star, Jack Vidgen, has no worries about the obvious comparisons between he and Justin Bieber.
Vidgen, 14, had over 300,000 YouTube hits from around the world this week after wowing the Australia's Got Talent judges with his powerhouse performance of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing.
Immediately, everyone is talking about how Vidgen could be the next Bieber. He has a similar background as the Canadian superstar, growing up with music from a young age.
"I don't mind it at all," he said of the comparisons. "If I was successful as him, that would be pretty amazing."
Vidgen, who goes to school in Sydney, said he jumped at a chance to get a record deal now, despite his age.
He is the favourite to win Australia's Got Talent, which was a ratings hit for Channel 7 this week.

Misdialing Chris Brown's Number, Justin Bieber Ends Up Talking to Old Man

Misdialing Chris Brown's Number, Justin Bieber Ends Up Talking to Old Man
Having no idea that Breezy put an incorrect number in his cell phone, the Biebs accidentally dialed the wrong number when he called the 'Kiss Kiss' hitmaker to wish him a 'happy birthday'.
has recently made an embarrassing mistake. The "Baby" hitmaker planned to ring his pal to wish him a happy birthday on Thursday, May 5, but he misdialed Breezy's number and ended up speaking to an unknown person on the other end of the line.

Justin didn't know that the "Run It!" hitmaker had set his new number incorrectly in the "Baby" hitmaker's cell phone. As a result, instead of talking to the birthday boy, the Canadian heartthrob was left red-faced after having an awkward conversation with an old man on the phone.

After the little incident, the boyfriend of decided to send his best wishes via Twitter as writing, "@chrisbrown happy birthday man." He followed it up with a confession, tweeting, "@chrisbrown call me cuz u programed yr new number wrong in my phone i was calling this old guy who didn't believe he was talking to me lol."

Chris Brown turned 22 last Thursday. On the special day, the ex-boyfriend of revealed that he's planning to throw birthday bashes in Miami and Las Vegas. He also shared that he's made a resolution to be a more mature man.

Justin Bieber's Manager Off The Hook For Mall-Stampede Charges

Bieber will make an anti-cyberbullying PSA and his label will reimburse the county for emergency response.

Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber's manager Scott "Scooter" Braun is off the hook for the charges of reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance he received after the chaotic incident with Bieber fans at a Long Island mall in November 2009.
According to E! News, the charges against Braun were dropped Friday (May 6) after Bieber agreed to make a public-service announcement for an anti-cyberbullying campaign and his record label, Island Def Jam, pleaded guilty to the ordinance violation and agreed to reimburse the county almost $8,000 to pay its share of the costs associated with the law enforcement and fire marshal response after the melee.
All this stems from a Bieber mall appearance that turned into a stampede and injured one fan. Police alleged that Braun failed to properly control the situation at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, New York, when they ordered him to send a message to Bieber's fans via Twitter to notify his followers that the event was canceled.
Fans of the rising teen superstar were waiting for Bieber to arrive at the mall, where he was set to perform selections from his EP, My World, which had been released earlier in the week.
Braun refused to send the message, police said. Instead, authorities contend Braun eschewed safety in favor of publicity. As things got out of hand, police said, Bieber's Twitter still read, "On my way to Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY to sign and meet fans! I'm pumped. See u there."
After a representative from the singer's label was arrested, a message from Bieber's Twitter was sent urging fans to go home. "The event at Roosevelt Mall is cancelled," he tweeted. "Please go home. The police have already arrested one person from my camp. I don't want anyone hurt."

Justin Bieber dials wrong number while calling Chris Brown

Justin Bieber dials wrong number.

May 6, 2011 -- Justin Bieber wanted to wish his friend, singer Chris Brown, a Happy Birthday, but accidentally dialed the wrong number. Brown hadn't given Bieber his updated number so the "Baby" singer ended up speaking to one unsuspecting person.
Don't get too jealous ladies. Justin Bieber ended up speaking to an "old man" who didn't believe it was actually The Biebs on the phone. 'Call me cuz u programmed yr new number wrong in my phone. I was calling this old guy who didn't believe he was talking to me," Justin tweeted to Chris Brown, 22.
"Why can't Justin Bieber accidentally call me?" tweeted one fan, with many other "Beliebers" agreeing. "It's so unfair that the person Justin called was an old man. It could have at least been a fan," said another girl. What do you think about Justin's mix while trying to call Chris Brown? Would you believe it if a "wrong number" claimed to be Justin Bieber?

Obama Promises Justin Bieber Meeting for Young 9/11 Family Member

Barack Obama ground zero_20110506094150_JPG
(The Wall Street Journal) - After laying a wreath Thursday at the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, President Barack Obama lingered to talk with several people who lost family members in the 9/11 attacks.
Among them was 14-year-old Payton Hall, who had written the president a letter about her father, Glen James Wall, who was killed in the Trade Center attacks.
Each day, White House staff give the president 10 letters from the public to read on a variety of topics, and on Monday, Payton's was in the batch.
Barack Obama ground zero_20110506093633_JPG
The White House invited Payton to attend the 9/11 event Thursday -- only to learn that her mother had no clue that her daughter had written the letter. Nonetheless, Payton turned up, along with her mother, Diane; 12-year-old sister, Avery; and a friend, Madison Robertson, who also lost her father that day.
All four stood behind Obama during the moment of silence.
In her letter, Payton said, she wrote about "the entire day [of Sept. 11, 2001] and how I pictured it happening, and what it's like to have to live without a father."
But when she met Obama, Payton said she and the president talked about another aspect of the letter: how she had originally written it for singer Justin Bieber, hoping to meet him. She decided on a whim to revise it and send it to the White House, even though her sister teased that the president would never read it.
As for the letter, Payton explained, "I wrote to Obama about how Justin Bieber inspired me to tell my story."
The president offered comfort, but even better, he promised to pull some strings and make sure she meets the Canadian teen sensation the next time he's in town.

Bieber touches down in the west

Bieber touches down in the west
teenage pop sensation Justin Bieber when he arrived in Perth afternoon for his sell-out concert at Burswood Dome tomorrow night.
Many had been waiting at Perth Domestic Airport from as early as 8am, but only caught a fleeting glimpse of the 17-year-old star through a terminal window before he was whisked away in a silver van with heavily tinted windows at about 4.30pm.
Courtney Greaves, 14, raced home from school to get to the airport in time for Bieber’s arrival.
She said she wanted to see the star before going to his concert tonight.
Kayah Boswood, 21, said she had been waiting since early yesterday to see Bieber and took the day off work.
“I’m a pretty old ‘Belieber’,” Ms Boswood said.
Even before his arrival, Bieber fever had been spreading across Perth with more than 16,500 fans preparing for his first and only sellout concert at the Burswood Dome tomorrow night.
Those "Beliebers" who missed out on tickets have been cautioned about buying online, where some seats are selling for more than $300. The original ticket price was $97.80 for gold seats and $65 for silver.
"Unfortunately there have been some very sad cases on this tour where people thought they'd purchased legitimate tickets only to discover the seller has disappeared, or has provided them with fakes," a spokeswoman for concert promoter the Frontier Touring Company said.
More tickets could have been sold if a lounge area had been included in the Dome as it had for Usher's recent Burswood concert for 18,000 people.
But Frontier made the show entirely seated for safety of the young fans that have helped Bieber become a cyber and real world star with more than 1.5 billion YouTube views and 26 million Facebook fans.
The Frontier spokeswoman said the volume of calls, emails, Facebook messages and tweets from fans asking to meet Bieber, get his flight and hotel details, "or simply to say they love him" was higher than for other touring acts with a similar demographic.
Raised by his mother in the city of Stratford, Ontario, 17-year-old Bieber was discovered on YouTube in 2008 when he was just 13 after his now manager Scooter Braun stumbled across his videos.
He has become almost as well known for his floppy fringe, hoodies and boyish looks as his hit singles One Time, Baby, Somebody to Love and Never Say Never. He has two albums in the ARIA top 20 this week, with My Worlds at No. 7 after 49 weeks on the chart.

Selena Gomez Finally Opens Up About Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez
This couple hasn’t been really into hiding their relationship but so far no one has confirmed it, right? Well, now, finally, Selena Gomez has come out and talked about her dating teen heartthrob, Justin Bieber.
I don’t like hiding. I do like to keep certain things to myself, but at the end of the day, I’m 18, and I’m going to fall in love… I”m going to hang out with people, and I’m going to explore myself, and I’m OK with that,” says Selena on her Seventeen magazine interview. Presumably she means Justin here. However, when asked if she had been in love before, she answered "At the moment, I don’t know, exactly, if I’ve been in love." Does this mean she isn’t sure of her feelings for Justin?
Selena also talked about her friendship with Demi Lovato and she really loves this friend of hers, one of the few certain people that one will always love.
"I have a lot of wonderful people in my life — probably five, collectively — who I can tell everything to. There's Jennifer [Stone], my friend Ashley, and Taylor, and my two cousins." Now, don’t you find anything amiss here? Where’s Justin? Is he not included in the list?
Your answer is as good as mine.

The true Beliebers

It's a question that has troubled many parents for nearly two years. Just what is the appeal of pint-sized Canadian pop star Justin Bieber? Is it his singing? His dance moves? His squeaky-clean looks? Perhaps his Christian upbringing? All of the above?
If you've just asked "who is Justin Bieber" you're clearly aged over 18 and don't move in the orbit of the tween and teenage girls who form Bieber's core fan base, aka the Beliebers.
Bieber's face, often framed by his distinctive brushed forward fringe, stares out from a startling range of merchandise from which there is no escape. He's on magazines, T-shirts, posters, quilt covers, blankets, hats, necklaces, shoes, bags, bobby pins, pencil cases, cups, balloons, straws and dinner napkins. There are even Justin Bieber masks for fancy dress parties.
Taylor White, 12, of Marangaroo, likes Bieber because "he is hot and he has good songs".
Girrawheen teen India Ewins, 15, her sister Holly, 10, and their mum Sarah Saville like Bieber for his music, looks and also think he's a good role model.
TV news reports in recent days have shown dozens of teenager girls screaming when interviewed about their idol. But it's not just tweens and their big sisters who have caught Bieber fever, symptoms of which also include crying and trembling at the mere thought of being in Bieber's presence. Surprisingly, he also has lots of younger fans.
Five-year-old Marshall Lalor, of Swanbourne, loves dressing like the superstar. "I like Justin because he's a great dancer and he looks cool," he says. "I like his shoes too." Marshall's seven-year-old sister Lucy is similarly enamoured. "I like Justin because he's really talented and sings songs that I love to sing."
Many parents like 17-year-old Bieber because, unlike so many of today's pop and rock stars, his songs sell puppy love and not sex - and there's no bleeping to cover up swear words.
Bieber is a phenomenon. In the recent 3-D documentary/concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, home video footage reveals Bieber was displaying musical talent as a toddler, particularly on the drums.
His mum, Pattie Mallette, had Justin when she was 18 and raised him with the help of her parents after separating from partner Jeremy when Justin was a baby.
Mallette began posting clips of her son singing tracks by Usher, Ne-Yo and Stevie Wonder on YouTube in 2007 for out-of-town relatives who missed his performances at local talent shows.
Bieber was 13 when he was discovered on YouTube in 2008 by former So Def marketing executive Scooter Braun, who is now his manager.
Braun admits in the film he was "obsessed" with finding Bieber and eventually tracked him down via a grand-aunt in his home town of Stratford, before going to Atlanta for talks. Several record companies passed on signing Bieber because they felt he needed the Disney or Nickelodeon industry machine backing him. How wrong they were. Bieber already had a readymade and huge fan base on the internet.
Even the man who was to become his mentor, R&B superstar Usher, initially blew Bieber off. "When we flew into Atlanta, Scooter drove us to the studio and Usher was there in the parking lot," Bieber recalled in a posting on his record company's website. "That was my first time out of Canada so I went up to him and was like 'Hey Usher, I love your songs, do you want me to sing you one?' He was like 'No, little buddy, just come inside, it's cold out'."
When Usher watched Bieber's videos and heard his voice, he realised his mistake and took Bieber to see Antonio "L.A." Reid, the Island Def Jam label boss who played a pivotal role in the careers of Usher, Rihanna and Pink.
"I sang for him and his people and he really wanted to sign me then and there but I still had a meeting with Justin Timberlake who also wanted to sign me," Bieber said.
"It turned out Usher's deal was way better. He had L.A. Reid backing him up and Scooter had a lot of really good connections in Atlanta. I always tease Usher now and remind him how he blew me off the first time we met."
"I was convinced Usher had delivered a gift," Reid revealed in Never Say Never, which has surpassed Michael Jackson's This Is It to become the most successful concert-themed movie at the US box office.
In October 2008, Bieber officially signed to Island Records but there was still hard work ahead. Now living in the US, he travelled all over the country in 2009 playing to small but growing crowds in malls and theme parks and singing a cappella at radio stations to convince DJs to broadcast his songs including first single One Time.
His management was clever not to alienate the internet fans who helped Bieber become a worldwide, chart-topping success. He joined Twitter and has more than 9.3 million followers hanging off his every tweet, with more than 26.5 million Facebook fans.
Baby, his second single, is the most watched and discussed YouTube clip of all time with more than 500 million views. Collectively his YouTube videos have been watched more than 1.5 billion times. His cyber success is backed by worldwide album and single sales of more than 10.25 million and 24.27 million, respectively.
Bieber is nominated in 11 categories in this month's Billboard Music Awards, including top new artist and top male artist.
Everywhere the young superstar goes, riotous scenes follow. In April 2010 he was due to make an appearance outside Sydney's Overseas Passenger Terminal for breakfast show Sunrise. After thousands more fans than expected showed up the show was cancelled on police advice and disappointed fans had to make do with Baby being sung inside Sunrise's Martin Place studio.
And it was while he was visiting the birthplace of Beatlemania, Liverpool, in March that Bieber was warned by police not to approach his hotel balcony or face arrest for inciting a riot.

Teen wanted Justin Bieber, got president

Payton Wall's letter to president earns her trip to ground zero ceremony

Fourteen-year-old Payton Wall really wanted to meet teen pop heartthrob Justin Bieber. She settled for Barack Obama.
The Rumson, N.J., teen and her family earned an invitation to Thursday's wreath-laying ceremony at Ground Zero after writing to the president about how she lost her father in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center.
"Justin Bieber inspired me to share my story," Payton told Manhattan news website DNAinfo.com after meeting the president.
"I wrote a letter to the president a few months ago. I talked about how I lost my dad on 9/11 and how I like Justin Bieber."
On Monday, as he does regularly, Obama read a batch of letters including the one from Payton. The president arranged for Payton to be invited to Thursday's ceremony.
When staff called Payton's mother, Diane Wall, she had no idea that Payton had written the president, the White House said. Payton, her 12-year-old sister, Avery, their mother and Payton's friend Madison Robertson, 14, who also lost her father on 9/11, attended the wreath-laying event.
Payton's father was Glen James Wall, a senior vice president at financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald. He was among nearly 3,000 people who were killed when terrorists hijacked planes and crashed them into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a rural Pennsylvania field.

Justin Bieber Dials Wrong Number... Not Chris Brown

Justin Bieber Dials Wrong Number... Not Chris Brown
Justin Bieber made an embarrassing mistake when trying to call his buddy Chris Brown to wish him a happy birthday - dialing the wrong number and speaking to random old guy!

Brown has just turned 22 and the Biebs was keen to get him on the line to congratulate him, following their recent on stage collaboration in Sydney.

However Chris had given Justin the wrong number to call, leaving the Biebs red faced when he tried to make the call... JB tweeted:

"Chris Brown happy birthday man... call me cuz u programed yr new number wrong in my phone. I was calling this old guy who didn't believe he was talking to me."

Stars Like Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber Need To Stop Denying That They're Dating!

Listen, Selena Gomez, I understand that you are not alone on the celebrity front, trying to keep your relationship under the radar, but you're NOT fooling anybody!
You've been photographed holding hands with Justin Bieber, you were caught kissing at the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party. You dressed in his favorite color purple at the LA premier of his hit film Never Say Never. You've visited him on his tour in Malaysia, stayed with him for a romantic weekend at the St. Regis Hotel in Orange County, Calif., and been seen going for romantic walks on the beach in Venice, Calif.
So why do you persist in pretending that you aren't involved? You recently refused to confirm your coupledom on an appearance on the Ellen Show.
Now, you've just told Seventeen magazine that you "didn't know" if you've ever been in love. And you clearly told the mag that you wouldn't talk about Justin because there was no mention of him. Hmm!
Now, Selena, your silence on your relationship is typical of many celebrity couples. Ever since screen icons Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy kept their love affair unconfirmed for decades, stars and their publicists have persisted in believing that stars should go so far as to lie about and deny a relationship, rather than fess up.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie insisted they were "just friends" for months before photographs of the couple on vacation with her son Maddox outed the pair.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson denied for months that they were romantically involved. When asked, they pulled out that favorite Hollywood response: "We're just friends!" Only when they were photographed holding hands was the romance "officially" confirmed.

Justin Bieber, here perfoming in Sydney, demonstrates a dance move that may have unwittingly helped shield him from egg yolk. A 17-year-old Australian boy alleged to be involved in egging Justin Bieber at a Sydney concert last Friday was charged by police today.
Throw eggs at Justin Bieber and you will face consequences -- consequences even more dire than the misspelled name-calling of 9.3 million Twitter-enabled Beliebers. Consequences that come with handcuffs and criminal charges.
A 17-year-old Australian boy alleged to be involved in egging Justin Bieber at a Sydney concert last Friday was charged by police today, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. The unidentified teen is facing charges of breaking and entering, trespassing and malicious damage.
As for what the kid is alleged to have done, you'll recall some of the details from the YouTube video that surfaced earlier this week -- a clip that proved Bieber's as talented at avoiding projectiles as he is at charting hits. And the Associated Press reports that police claim the accused egger broke into Sydney's Acer Arena to pull off the prank, and snuck up to the venue's roof to lob the raw eggs -- all of which reportedly missed Bieber and his back-up dancers.
The unidentified ova-bomber was arrested early Thursday morning at his home, the Sydney Morning Herald reports, and is scheduled to appear in court June 2. According to the paper, the concert venue contacted police about the incident when they uncovered some unspecified details about it through a social networking site.
Bieber has yet to comment on the incident. The teen pop star has been known to enjoy throwing water balloons in the past, though it's unclear whether he's ever egged an unsuspecting victim.

Australia teen charged over eggs thrown at Bieber

He broke into Sydney arena through roof to harass singer

Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber, seen here in April, continued to sing and dance even while eggs were thrown at him during an Australia concert.
Australian officials have charged a teenager with breaking into a Justin Bieber concert and throwing eggs at the Canadian pop star.
The 17-year-old appeared in a Sydney Children's Court on Thursday and was charged with breaking and entering, trespassing and malicious damage. He cannot be named because he is a minor.
Bieber scrambles as eggs tossed at concert Video footage of the concert last Friday at Sydney's Acer Arena showed several raw eggs smash on the stage, narrowly missing Bieber and his backup singers. They continued to sing and dance.
Police say the boy broke into the arena through the roof. He was released on bail and is to enter a plea next month.

Bieber's Crew Stages Mutiny Over Japan Concert

Justin Bieber's scheduled concerts in Japan could be torpedoed because of a crew mutiny ... TMZ has learned.

Many crew members have flat out refused to go to Japan for two concerts later this month, because they're afraid of the cancer risks from the recent nuclear disaster.  They also fear another earthquake.  Short story -- they are refusing to go to Osaka for a May 17 concert and another concert two days later in Tokyo.

Today in Adelaide, Australia, an angry Scooter Braun -- Justin's manager -- exploded at the crew ... sources who were there tell TMZ.

Braun told the crew, "Man the f**k up and do the right thing by these kids."

But during the meeting -- the 3rd one in 4 days -- members of the crew fired back that it wasn't safe to go and Avril Lavigne and Slash had canceled their Japan concerts.

Scooter said Justin did not want to disappoint the kids who bought tickets and that the Japanese government had given an "all clear" -- that it was safe to be in both cities.

And Scooter noted, Maroon 5 is full steam ahead for its upcoming Japanese concerts.

As of now, there's a stalemate, and the Japanese concerts are in jeopardy.

Selena Gomez comes clean about Justin Bieber

Disney star says that she doesn't like "hiding" her relationship with Canadian heartthrob

In case you didn't know, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are dating. Surprising, no? The starlet seems to think that she has been playing coy about her relationship with the tween heartthrob and is now coming clean about her relationship.
In case you didn't know, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are dating. Surprising, no? The starlet seems to think that she has been playing coy about her relationship with the tween heartthrob and is now coming clean about her relationship in Seventeen magazine. According to People, she said, "I don't like hiding. I do like to keep certain things to myself, but at the end of the day, I'm 18 and I'm going to fall in love. I'm going to hang out with people and I'm going to explore myself, and I'm okay with that."
While we find it hard to believe that being photographed making out with the Biebz and holding hands in public is considered playing coy, the singer says that she's been keeping things on the DL because she's had her poor little Disney heart stomped on in the past. She told Seventeen, "When I went through my first breakup, I thought it was the end of the world, and I thought I was going to die if I didn't have him in my life. It was good to cry it out and just scream, or call my friends in the middle of the night crying."
Bieber isn't the only relationship Gomez is talking about. The singer opened up about her friendship with troubled Disney pal Demi Lovato, saying, "There's an amount of love that can never – no matter what – be taken away or torn apart, no matter the situation."
Gomez says the "best friend" label is, like, "so ridiculous." "There are certain people who you will always, always love, so if anything, this just reminded me of how much I truly love her."

Laptops and landings

And what is that odd rumbling at 35,000 feet? Plus, eavesdropping on pilots and air traffic controllers

Ask the pilot
iStockphoto/gchutka
Below, you will find nothing about the takedown of Osama bin Laden, tempted as I was to write about the peculiar vulgarity of our national celebration of his killing, as well as the "stepped-up security measures" put in place at airports. I'm curious how a guardsman standing around with an automatic rifle is going to stop somebody from bombing a plane. But never mind that.
After landing, the crew usually announces that it's all right for passengers to once again use their phones and hand-held devices. But laptop computers, they always emphasize, are still not allowed. Why not?
On the ground, laptops can only be used when the plane is parked at the gate. The issue here isn't about electronic interference, it's about egress. Having a computer in your lap, or on a tray table, could be a serious hindrance in the event of a sudden evacuation. It is also a potential projectile.
I know the various after-landing strictures -- about computers, seat belts, carry-ons and so forth -- sound like overkill. The flight is over and still we're haranguing you with rules. What a drag.
But in some ways taxiing to and from the terminal is the most perilous portion of your journey. Keep in mind that the worst disaster in aviation history involved two planes that never left the ground. Lesser accidents between planes and vehicles are relatively common. Even if they're not catastrophic, such collisions can still be hazardous. And remember that incident a few weeks ago, when the wingtip of a taxiing Air France A380 struck the tail of a Comair regional jet that had just landed. The Comair plane was stationary at the mouth of the apron, only a few feet from its parking position, when it was rammed and spun like a toy.
Once in a while, during cruise flight, I suddenly hear a loud rumbling, as if engine power is being increased. This lasts for a few minutes, and then it dies down. It sounds almost like taking off, yet the plane doesn't seem to be climbing. Is this done to increase speed? Is it some sort of periodic test?
What you're describing is a "cruise climb," a point during flight when the crew is climbing to a higher altitude, be it for traffic or weather or better economy or whatever. Engine thrust is increased substantially, resulting in a noisy rumble. But because this type of climb is a lot more gradual than the departure climb, you don't necessarily feel it.
Because of the odd acoustics of an aircraft cabin, this often is only detectable if you're seated aft of the engines. The forward cabin usually stays quiet, and you may not notice the climb at all.
My flight sat on the tarmac at BWI airport for several minutes during a weather delay. This would have been unbearable except for United's Channel 9, which allows passengers to eavesdrop on conversations between pilots and controllers. While listening, I kept hearing aircraft being referred to as "swans." For example:
United flight: "We're still waiting for pushback. Any word how long?"
Ground control: "Are you a swan?"
United flight: "Yes sir, we're a swan."
Ground control: "OK, we'll get you pushed in the next five minutes."
What does this bizarre term refer to? What the heck is a swan?
After taking off, planes will follow a particular departure profile -- a series of climbs and turns -- called a "SID" (standard instrument departure). SIDs keep traffic organized along particular pathways. An airport can have a dozen or more published SIDs. Which one you'll fly depends on which runway you're assigned, the direction in which the flight is ultimately headed, the aircraft type and other factors. Each SID has a name, and the names are taken from one of the five-character fixes that define the routing. At BWI there is a SID called the SWANN, borrowing from the name of a fix east of Baltimore. So, basically, for queue-planning purposes, the ground controller was curious which way the United flight would be heading after takeoff. (Ground control is in charge of movements in the airport itself and isn't necessarily aware of which airborne routings have been assigned.)
Planes follow similar published pathways on arrival. These are called STARs (standard terminal arrival route). They too are usually named after one of the five-letter fixes that make up the procedure.
Aside from SIDs and STARs, the entire airspace structure of the United States, and the rest of the world, for that matter, is overlaid by tens of thousands of these five-character point-in-space fixes, which are also called "intersections." The naming is usually random, but once in a while a fix will be coined in folksy reference to some geographic or cultural characteristic on the ground below. In the case of SWANN it's Swann Park, Md.
SCROD is a transatlantic gateway fix off the coast of Labrador, not far from OYSTR, PRAWN and CRABB. BOSOX is one not far from where I live (baseball fans will understand). And so on. God only knows what's going on beneath BLOWN, LAYED and BAABY, a trio of intersections over West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
In your discussion of pressurization problems a few weeks ago, you talked about emergency descents. Basically, as you explained it, the crew reacts to a decompression by immediately beginning a controlled but very steep, very fast descent. Maybe this is a stupid question, but isn't there a chance of getting in the way of another plane flying below you?
A small chance, perhaps, though pilots will always notify air traffic control if such a descent is necessary. If, for some reason, this is impossible, you've still got TCAS (onboard collision technology) warnings, plus the fact that it's very unlikely you'll be dropping directly into another plane's path to begin with. On oceanic flights where there is no ATC radar, the protocol is to turn perpendicular to the route before making any sudden altitude change.

Justin Bieber on His Period? Or in Love?

justin bieber selena gomez
love with Selena Gomez?
It looks as though Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may be taking their relationship to the next level. There are a couple of factors that indicate this…firstly, we have Justin Bieber acting super emotional lately, to the point where he is crying onstage. Weeping in public is definitely not something Bieber can be too proud of, but it has elicited the type of crazed fan response that can be expected.
Whilst performing “Favorite Girl” in Melbourne, Australia, Justin Bieber broke down and wept onstage. Were this an isolated incident, we might have let this slip, but this is the second time that Justin Bieber has been spotted crying while performing within the past several months. Did he and Selena get into a fight? Or was he just missing her, to the point where he couldn’t help but weep?
Perhaps Justin Biebers’s crying has something to do with Selena Gomez’s opening up to the press recently about their relationship! Justin’s “Beliebers,” while dedicated, can be cruel in their avowed hatred towards 18-year-old Selena Gomez, who has even received death threats about her and Justin’s relationship. But Selena recently spoke to Seventeen magazine about her relationship with Bieber, where she proudly states, “I don’t like hiding. I do like keeping certain things to myself, but at the end of the day, I’m 18, and I’m going to fall in love.”
Gomez continued her mature statement saying, “I’m going to hang out with people, and I’m going to explore myself, and I’m OK with that.” It definitely sounds like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are getting more serious about one another, and it might be something that helps Justin tune out the shrieks of pre-teen fans exclaiming, “He’s crying, he’s crying!” (See below video).

Justin Bieber, Watch Out: Selena Gomez Wants To Marry Zac Efron!

Justin has been a doting boyfriend for months but Selena keeps hiding her love for him — and gushes about other guys! We bet Zac’s ex Vanessa Hudgens isn’t very happy!

Selena Gomez is ready to walk down the aisle, just not to her boyfriend Justin Bieber! The 18-year-old starlet is Seventeen Magazine‘s June cover girl and rather than get giggly about her current relationship, she reveals she’s in love with her BFF Vanessa Hudgen‘s ex-boyfriend — Zac Efron!

When asked if she can relate to the obsession Justin’s fans have for him as a pop idol, she unleashed her dirty little secret!
“Are you kidding me? I’m still thinking Zac [Efron] is my husband,” Selena says, adding “I wouldn’t touch that. I love Vanessa way too much.”
Hmm, this isn’t the first time Selena has fawned all over Zac, 23. She told Popstar in 2009 that she was in love with Zac’s lucious locks!
“I mean all the boys kind of have this swoop going on, but if you’ve noticed lately Zac is doing a 40s look. I love that,” she says. “I really actually like Zac’s hair.”
We wonder if she likes it more than the famous Bieber mop?

Justin Bieber Cries On Stage Because He Loves His Fans So Much!

Justin Bieber broke down in tears while performing in Melbourne on May 2. His tears of happiness are for you, Beliebers!

It’s his concert, and he can cry if he wants to! Justin Bieber made his Melbourne fans go wild on Monday when he sang “Favorite Girl” on stage in the Australian city. He was so overwhelmed by his fans, the singer stopped performing and just looked around the crowd with tears in his eyes.
What do you think was going through Justin’s mind as he looked out at all of his loyal fans? He was obviously so genuinely moved that it brought him to tears. He even pulls out his earpiece so he can hear all of the Beliebers screaming for him! This is a much warmer reception than he received in Sydney.
This night was a special one for the Biebs. He brought Casey Heynes, the kid made famous when a video of him standing up to a bully went viral, on stage with him.
Justin is so fan-friendly and it’s touching to see him get so choked up with happiness over how far he’s come. It must be so surreal being up on a stage in Australia and having so many loyal fans cheering for you!
What do you think about Justin’s tears? Did they move you? Some people suggested he was crying because he missed Selena Gomez, but we think it was because of his fans, do you agree?

Bieber's DJ to spin discs but will Justin show up?

Justin Bieber
IT'S Justin Bieber's party and he can do what he wants - including sending his own DJ in his spot.
Mine at Mansions on Pulteney St is holding a Justin Bieber party tonight and we hear Biebs' DJ Tay James is playing.
But the teen pop star, right, who's touring Australia and is playing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre tonight, won't be making an appearance.
Which is probably the right way to go as an underage Justin would have to wear a wristband so he's not served alcohol.
